Vershon Dress’ To Impress For Caribbean Music Awards Show

Anyone who is booked to be a presenter at any music awards show knows they need to dress to impress. So, as soon as international act Vershon knew he would present the award for Best New Reggae Artiste, he got an advisor who began to unknot ideas left, right and center.

This lasted for weeks until his wardrobe was finalized, and what would be the price tag?

They would be working with a figure between US$1,500 and US$1,700 which is a close count to JA$ 250,000 or a quarter million dollars.

Now, you might think that’s monkey money to what some celebrities spend on a pair of shoes, but, a quarter million dollars is what some people take up to ten years to save.

Vision Caribbean understands that the artistes was dressed by a Fashionista. Just that one word could give away the secret of all secrets.

It was all leather from head to toe. The shoes from Gucci cost almost a hundred thousand. The pants, all black leather, absorbed some fifty thousand along with a leather button up shirt which had the deejay shelling out another fifty thousand and lastly, a leather baseball cap added another thirty thousand to the bill.

Words are flying that everything was one hundred percent new and this includes his cologne.

The inaugural show was held at Kings Theatre, Brooklyn, New York on Thursday, August 31, 2023. This, to recognize, honour and celebrate Caribbean talent who have made significant contribution to the enhancement of our music and the development of our rich and diverse culture.

Among the awardees are Beres Hammond, Buju Banton, Spice, Ding Dong and Machel Montana.

Haitian rapper Wyclef  Jean played host.
