CHRIS ROCK

NEW YORK (AP) _ Some Hollywood stars and movie fans will be boycotting the Oscars over the lack of diversity. But chances are a lot of people will be tuning in to the broadcast to see what Chris Rock has to say about it all. Rock has always been a keen observer of U.S. life, especially when on racial issues. He hosted the Oscars in 2005 _ a year when there were four black actors nominated. Back then, he called it “the Def Oscar Jam.” One can only wonder what he will have to say next month as he presides over an awards ceremony that for the second straight year _ nominated an all-white slate of acting nominees.
