QQ TAKES ‘KUSHI WINE’ TO GYALLAPARK

QQ

Recording artiste QQ is one of the selected 10 dancehall stars that lent their vocals to the recently released Gyallapark Riddim project produced by RDX for their Apartment 19 Music label. The riddim also boasts recordings from Kalado, Spice, RDX, Mr Vegas, Razor B, Macka Diamond, ZJ Liquid and Raytid.

QQ has already amped the promotion of his single ‘Kushi Wine’ in the local dancehall space. With dance competitions and street promotion underway, the single is poised to be one of the hottest – girl dance tunes – to start 2016.
QQ is defiantly not new to creating first rate dancing tunes and songs specifically for the ladies. With hits like Stookie, Tek It To Dem, Mosquito Net and One Drop etched into the dancehall space, ‘Kushi Wine’ is also expected to dominate.

Making the decision to record for the Apt.19 Music label was no hard task for the young star either.

“Just hearing the beat alone of the Gyallapark Riddim creates a joy and happiness and makes you want to move and this is what QQ represents. Also being in the industry means working together with people that share the common vision as I do” QQ shared.

The ‘Kushi Wine’ itself is not a new dance move and has been present over 20 years in the dancehall space, with even a few dance moves in the last 5 years looking similar to the original style.

Simply placing your hands on your knees and whining is how the dance move is done, however Dancehall Queen Baby Star is one of just a few females who have impressed QQ with their version of the dance.

QQ also explains how he came up with the name ‘Kushi Wine’

‘It came from the character in a series carried on local tv called ‘Strange Love’ with KUSHI and Arnov. I would ask girls where they going or what they doing and I kept hearing going to watch KUSHI and the name stayed with me so I decided that’s the name for the next dance.”

QQ is definitely going full force with the single promotion. He is currently hosting Kushi Wine dance competitions with cash prizes for the best female dancer at various weekly events, kicking off most recently at Magnum Wenzdays in Payneland hosted by DJ Ruxie.

A High Definition music video has also been shot for the single with intent to release it right before or right after the Christmas holidays.

QQ is expected to continue the ‘Kushi Wine’ promotion well into 2016 while also giving some energy to his other projects including ‘CHARGY DEM’ produced by QG Production and ‘Bruck Back’ produced by MV Music. The young dancehall star is also expected to tour parts of Africa and Europe in 2016.
