Perspective; Grant To Artiste Itana..Mini Row

The decision to assist Itana with a grant is in our perspective a great move.  We must assist our artistes to develop their craft as this is an investment in the future growth of our creative industry. Itana is most deserving of this award as she has been a true female Ambassador of reggae music.

There was a discussion this morning on radio between Mrs. K. Reynolds, host and Tony Rebel, Herbie Gordon, Curator of Music Museum and others.

The contention appears to have been the suitability of giving a cash grant of US$5000 to Itana.  There is this crab in the barrel mentality where certain individuals hate to see others progress.  To be fair at least one member of the Reynolds led panel thought the gesture was good for reggae.

We await any further feedback, but endorse the grant to Itana.  Good for you Minister Grange.
