PM orders Early release of Audit Report into Health Sector

Meeting with the National Partnership Council, the PM Portia Simpson Miller has asked the Health Minister Dr. Fenton Ferguson to release the Report sooner than later. It is now seventy days since that now controversial report was authored and not released to the public.

A summary of the Report was released and there is speculation that it could be “sanitised”…. before release to the media and public.

Access to information (ATI) was used without success to get hands on this report. ATI is a government entity set up by law to release official documents …. to foster an atmosphere of openness and transparency and thereby strengthen the democratic process.

There seems to be out there …. leaked copies of the Audit Report into the Health Sector. It was widely reported that the Audit Report highlighted “high levels of bacteria in hospitals/health facilities and likely neonatal units …
