Today Toronto-based rapper Nue releases the memorable new single “Thousand Times” from his forthcoming full length album Playground due in 2022 on Wax Records and Republic Records (UMG Worldwide). Despite his youth, Nue is not new to this, and his inherent “been there, done that ” approach to making hits, underscores both the single’s cogent messaging and the confidence that he has in his artistic output.

“Thousand Times” is about my lifestyle. The party never ends and at this point, I must’ve done it a thousand times,” admits Nue, who despite only having released one album prior, has already landed on XXL’s “15 New Artists You Should Know”, Complex / Pigeon and Planes’ “13 Rising Artists You Should Know”, and CBC’s “Meet the New Faces of Canadian hip hop” lists, with Paper Mag dubbing him “the Toronto rapper to keep your radar on”. “That spaced out grunge is what I felt [when I wrote this song]. It’s on some cool shit, some too-fly-to-care shit. I just want my fans to feel the same way and be filled with that confidence. I was up all night [partying] and I recorded this song at 11am before I went to sleep. I don’t think I’ve ever done that before!”

Nue’s confidence and highly touted genre-bending approach to hip-hop and alternative R&B is what led to a tour with Fetty Wap, a remix collaboration with Pressa, landing placements on the Call of Duty video game series, and once becoming the first and only Canadian artist to sign with 300 Entertainment (Migos, Young Thug). And with most Nue releases, the accolades continue to pour in.  Stay tuned to this artist who’s bringing a considerable Nue energy to the rap game.
