Webster …. Independent Baptist Pastor on Rape Charge …

One Leibert Webster described as an Independent Baptist Pastor has allegedly raped a minor in Santa Cruz, St. Elizabeth, in October 2017.

The Jamaica Baptist Union (JBU) is different from the Independent Baptists Churches.

Towel

Reports are that a towel was used to put over the minor’ mouth to avoid any sound, as she was dragged into a room at her grand mother’s house and raped. The accused was arrested, taken to court, then offered bail bond of J$1 million, in December 2017. We do not know if he took up bail.

Commentary

It is not known if the Grandmother was present when the sexual assault occurred.  Was she complicit? We have no evidence that she was aware of the attack.

Why such alleged behaviour from religious leaders?  Pastor Rupert Clarke was convicted in the same parish recently.  Are these people not reading? That case was well publicized.

We have no sympathy for child molesters. It should be noted that Pastor Webster is considered innocent until proven guilty or otherwise. We respect this principle.
