July 11, 2022 | By Supa Pea |

Whenever an international artiste decides to team up with one who has youth in his favour and an overflowing reservoir of talent, expect nothing short of great expectations.

Such is the case of Bounty Killer, who is known to be less of a “warlord” than “Poor People’s Governor.”

Bounty  Killer, or Rodney Price, his given name, collaboration with Jason “Maestro Don” Dunn, is titled “Pioneers” – a song which has made great strides on the international scene.

Last August, 2021, “Pioneers” got rotation on BET SOUL and BET JAMZ.

Reacting to this feat, Maestro Don says,” it is an overwhelming feeling to even have done a collaboration with Bounty Killer, yet alone a music video that has been selected on BET.”

Producer of the song, J.J Wizzle adds that the combination with Bounty Killer’s unique and commanding voice has given the song an authentic feel.

The action packed video speaks for itself. Its fast -moving scenes transform viewers into the guts of the garrison where poverty blooms and the have-nots try to break this spell by, for example, dancing. But, there is the stalk reality of learning to stay alive.

Michael “Beatbopper” Hudgins is the executive producer of  the album, Miungu Ya Muziki, on which Pioneers proudly sits. The album has charted in several countries including no.2 on the US ITunes reggae charts.

“Bounty Killer and Maestro Don have delivered a great message. For this reason, I will be having this song on my second  upcoming album, “Certified Gold.” Hudgins says.

Other artistes who will share the glory include Lahjihkal, Talis, Kabaka Pyramid Epixode and Di Real Uplift.

In addition to Certified Gold, Hudgins will be releasing Dei Della Musica, which will feature over 15 artistes, including Johonze.

Bounty Killer, one of Jamaica’s greatest dancehall  acts, has contributed his talent to Jamaica for more than 30 years.

Known as ” Warlord”, “Five Star General,” Ghetto Gladiator” and “Poor People’s Governor,” his contribution to charitable organizations is endless.

He has harnessed, guide and promote younger acts to reach stardom, while being a great role model to thousands of youths.
