Iba Mahr and friends to Sound Di Alarm for the New Year

Excitement and anticipation builds for what will be a stellar line-up tonight for the Tru Juice Sound Di Alarm Music Festival inside of Dintill Sports Complex Linstead.

The event, staged by Reggae Recording artiste Iba Mahr, his Iba Mahr foundation and Harar Music Group, is now in its second year and boasts an enviable line-up of artistes known for their crowd-pleasing performances.

Stage front runner’s include Sizzla Kalonji, Capleton, Queen Ifrika, Etana, Bugle, Warrior King, Turbulance, Tony Rebel as well as recently added acts, Kabaka Pyramid and Tarrus Riley alongside ‘Big Machine’ singer Iba Mahr himself.

The event offers a unique alternative to the traditional New Years Eve celebrations in Jamaica and reinforces Linstead, St Catherine as a go-to for the holiday season with the town already renowned for its Christmas grand market.

“Growing up in Linstead, I feel that it is my responsibility to ensure that my community has access to high caliber events to ring in the new year. An event of this nature will also help to put Linstead in the map. Just as how people from all over Jamaica come here for grand market so too will they come here for live reggae music,” said Iba Mahr.

Sound Di Alarm boasts strong corporate support from sponsors including Tru Juice, Red Stripe and Rum Bar Rum among others who were happy to come on board given the charitable objective of the event. Net proceeds from the Sound Di Alarm concert will go towards renovating the Linstead Hospital in the parish.

Sound Di Alarm Music Festival admission is $1000 presold and $1,500 at the gate for general or $3000 for a VIP drinks inclusive experience. There are also limited platinum all inclusive tickets available for $5000.
