Razor B etches space in Soca market with new single

Caribbean fusion artiste Razor B is showing his musical versatility with the release of his new single Rhum In My Cup. The high energy Soca track produced by Trinidadian production house BadBlood Entertainment, inspired Razor to also delve deep to deliver the right song on the project..

“I’ve always loved soca music because of the natural vibes and positive energy that comes with it. I also grew up listening to Soca, Byron Lee is one my favorites; so when I heard this riddim while in Trinidad i wanted to get the right energy to match the beat,” Razor explained

This isn’t the first time the artiste has dabbled in soca music and has collaborations with Vincentian Skinny Fabulous and Trinidadian Nelly Cattoy. He also has additional soca tracks recorded and ready for release.

Already the Rhum In My Cup single has received positive feedback since its premiere last month. The impact is amplified with the release of the video right after Jamaica’s carnival road march day.

“I think most persons are gravitating to Rhum In My Cup because it’s a great song, the words are relatable, rum is the national drink for the Caribbean. We love good music, good rum and having a good time,” Razor explained

The video for Rhum In My Cup is directed by Duvinewlook and Ifidel Williams and showcases fun party energy while at the same time not promoting reckless drinking.

The Rhum In My Cup single will be the main track for Razor B’s performance on St Thomas Carnival this weekend and Tagz Carnival in Ewarton St Catherine next weekend. He is also billed to perform on Saba Island for their carnival on July 22.
